1.Canada Day

The first Saturday of July commemorates Canada Day in Mississauga. The festivities kick-off at noon with birthday cake for all attendees. Locals spend the afternoon enjoying great entertainment including popular bands and musicians. Each year there are many other attractions for the whole family. You can also join the Village of Streetsville for fun and fireworks in the evening; or you can paint the town red in Port Credit!

2.Carassauga

This annual weekend event celebrates the many cultures of the community. Dancing and art displays, food tasting, art and musical performances are just some of the fun to be had. Venues are situated throughout Mississauga.

3.Mississauga Waterfront Festival

This festival is an annual event offering countless games and activities aimed at the family. The festival usually runs for three days in June and takes place at Memorial Park at 70 Wesley Avenue Mississauga. Live music is offered in the evenings.

4.Southside Shuffle Jazz & Blues Festival

This three-day festival takes place in September and welcomes local and international jazz and blues musicians. A variety of venues and bars host the events. Lakeshore Road is opened to foot traffic for the event finale.

5.Streetsville Founders Bread and Honey Festival

Every June the community of Streetsville links together for a carnival, parade and family activities. But the most important aspect of this festival is being able to taste the gooey richness of bread and honey. Come to Streetsville Memorial Park and join in the fun.

Tax Evasion Fine Equal to 200% of Taxes Owed

NEWMARKET, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2012) - The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced today that Baldev Singh Klair, of Markham, pleaded guilty on January 27, 2012, in the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket to two counts of tax evasion. He was fined a total of $18,500 which represents 200% of the total taxes evaded.
